Anita Durand
Anita Durand obtained the French national diploma in conservation-restoration of painted works at Avignon Art School in 2006 (Master II), following a DEUG in Art History at the Sorbonne.
Her final thesis is devoted to the restoration of ephemeral and immaterial works (impermanent installations and performances), which makes her a pioneer in the field: Perpetuate the moment? or what conservation-restoration for impermanent and/or performative works?
After finishing her studies, she was hired by Atelier Héritier (Geneva) where for 17 years, she assisted its founder. There she honed her skills and know-how for the benefit of ancient works, and in the field of restoration of modern and contemporary works.
She is a member of the Swiss association of conservators-restorers (SKR-SCR) and has published several articles (related to her research on the place of conservation-restoration in relation to performative works) which led her to give conferences in France and Canada.

The approach of Atelier AnD is above all an understanding of the artist and his mediums in order to enhance the work by forgetting, as much as possible, the hand of the restorer.
Furthermore, the interventions are intended to be sustainable over time, reversible and understandable by future generations of restorers.

Restoration and Conservation of painted works
Atelier AnD offers its customers conservation and restoration services for easel painted works (no interventions on wall paintings).
Depending on the support (wood, canvas, metal, etc.) and the technique (tempera, gouache, oil, acrylic, alkyd resin, etc.), the treatment is adapted to each piece but for all, respect for integrity is maximum.
The operations are intended to be measured and considered, estimated and discussed, justified and argued, the means employed relevant and modern.
A successful treatment is a controlled operation and each work requires its specialist, which is why the Atelier AnD will happily advise you on the appropriate restorer according to the discipline required by your piece. Likewise, mixed media, depending on the case, can be processed by several hands if necessary between specialists.

Condition reports
Atelier AnD also produce documented Condition reports on site or in the workshop, in French and English.
Immaterial artworks
Atelier AnD aims to ensure the sustainability of the material but also the immaterial: it thus wishes to offer protocols for the re-establishment of ephemeral works such as performances and ephemeral installations.
